The first comment to be made on this great bracelet is
about its color: It's actually a brilliant red-orange, more
so than the photos would indicate - a bright persimmon
shade. As you can see, it's marvelously swirled with a
lighter orange shade - 'marvelously' because these
swirls are quite eye-catching and perhaps this bracelet's
very best feature. It's chunky in appearance and
measures 3/4" in height, with an interior diameter of 2
1/2", and is a full 1/4" thick. Although at first glance it may
appear to be a slice bracelet (meaning a bracelet which
looks, literally, like it was sliced from a tube), this one
actually has lightly rounded edges which gives it a nicer,
finished look. In excellent condition and tests positive
with Simichrome.

Very striking deep orange carved Bakelite bangle, in very
good condition. This pretty piece came to us with a very
dull, flat finish and the exterior of the bangle has since
been polished with Simichrome. The bangle's interior
has been left as-is in case the purchaser wishes to test
the bracelet on their own; otherwise, we would be happy
to polish the inside as well. This bracelet has an interior
diameter of 2 1/2 inches and measures 3/4 inches in

This is a rich, bright red Bakelite bangle which is
ever-so-lightly swirled here and there with a lighter
shade. Actually, the swirling effect is so subtle that you're
apt to miss it unless you look closely. This bangle could
easily pass for a solid red. We've tried to take a closer
photo of some of the swirling (see second photo) so you
can get an idea of what we're talking about. Measuring
not-quite a half inch in height and 1/4" thick, this bangle
has a nicely curved outer side, an inner diameter of 2 1/2
inches, test positive with Simichrome and is in very good
condition.

Patriotic red, white and blue set of Bakelite bangle
bracelets. Each measures 1/4" in thickness and height.
The red is a little darker in person than the photos
indicate - think more of a true cherry red rather than the
slightly tomato red as shown. The blue bracelet is a true,

not get a definitive positive test on the white bracelet and

Classically styled root beer/mock tortoise Bakelite bangle
bracelet. This gem is in very good condition and nicely
finished with a slightly rounded edge which saves it from
being merely a slice of Bakelite and provides a little bit of
sophistication too. As with most root beer and mock
tortoise Bakelite, this bangle seems to give back a warm,
inviting glow as it catches the light. It measures 15/16" in

a unusual flare shape on its exterior side (see second

been machined into its surface. It is 1/4 inch thick at its

Unusual carved Bakelite bangle bracelet. This bracelet
varies in thickness; at the top and bottom edge it's
translucent & a light root beer in color. In the center,
where the Bakelite is the thickest, it's a brown color with
the slightest tinge of green. In excellent vintage condition
& passes the 409 test. Measures 1/2 inch high & has an
inner diameter of 2 1/2 inches. Although it appears small
in person, the diameter measurement is standard. I
have medium wrists but fairly large hands and it fits fine.
By the way, my husband informs me that, technically, this
bracelet is 'machined' and not 'carved.' For our
information :).

four colors altogether - all marbled: butterscotch, bright
green, avocado green and pumpkin. All test positive with
409. Vintage unknown but definitely more contemporary
than what we're used to seeing, based upon the
brightness of the gold tone chain and the thin slices of
Bakelite (each measuring a little under 1 1/4" in length
with a thickness of approximately 1/4 inch). In very good
