Thick and chunky Bakelite Mah Jongg tile bracelet. This
fun and funky retro styled piece features seven numbered
Bakelite Mah Jongg tiles with red and black motifs,
separated by two rows of round black plastic beads. The
Bakelite tiles are substantial, measuring 1 3/16" in
height, 7/8 inch wide and 3/8 inch in thickness, and come
in a warm and mellow butterscotch color.

This wide, lightly swirled root beer/mock tortoise vintage
Bakelite bangle bracelet is just as pretty as it can be! As
with most root beer or mock tortoise Bakelite, it seems to
give off a golden glow from within when it catches the
light. Showing only minor, age-appropriate wear, it's in
very good vintage condition with a nice, deep shine to its
surface. Measures 1" in height, approximately 3/16" in

While these photos are an adequate representation this
lovely bracelet, they by no means do it justice. This is a
thick, heavy, lusciously ruby red Bakelite bangle with
swirls and semi-transparent areas. The color is actually
more of a true ruby red, with great richness and depth.
We've taken three photos to show the wonderful swirling
effect which appears throughout the bracelet and the
smooth curving on the bracelet's sides. The bracelet

This is a fun bracelet with an offbeat shape to it, done in
rich, creamy butterscotch Bakelite. Unfortunately, this
bracelet does have a flaw which needs to be mentioned.
It appears that a previous owner either dinged it up a bit
or tried to test for Bakelite in an unfortunate manner.
Although the 'structural integrity' of the bracelet is not
compromised and it is continues to be quite wearable,
there are visible mars to the surface (see pics 3 and 5
please) made even more visible with the unforgiving eye
of our digital camera. We have priced this otherwise nifty
bracelet accordingly. This bracelet is 1/2" in helght with
thicknesses ranging from 1/4" to 1/2" and has an interior
diameter of 2 1/2 inches. Tests positive with Simichrome.

The first comment to be made on this great bracelet is
about its color: It's actually a brilliant red-orange, more
so than the photos would indicate - a bright persimmon
shade. As you can see, it's marvelously swirled with a
lighter orange shade - 'marvelously' because these
swirls are quite eye-catching and perhaps this bracelet's
very best feature. It's chunky in appearance and
measures 3/4" in height, with an interior diameter of 2
1/2", and is a full 1/4" thick. Although at first glance it may
appear to be a slice bracelet (meaning a bracelet which
looks, literally, like it was sliced from a tube), this one
actually has lightly rounded edges which gives it a nicer,

good condition. This pretty piece came to us with a very
dull, flat finish and the exterior of the bangle has since

shade. Actually, the swirling effect is so subtle that you're
apt to miss it unless you look closely. This bangle could
easily pass for a solid red. We've tried to take a closer
